Mesa County Oral History Meeting: History of Uranium on the Colorado Plateau – Atomic Legacy Cabin In-Person

This presentation will cover the legacy of uranium in Grand Junction and Colorado Plateau region. Attendees will discover how Grand Junction played a role in the nation’s nuclear past during the Manhattan Project, Cold War, and clean-up eras. Today, the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Legacy Management fulfills an important mission related to this history from the same Grand Junction office.

Mesa County Oral History Meetings happen from 12pm to 1pm on the third Thursday of the month in the Central Library Community room in partnership with the Mesa County Historical Society.

Seating is first come, first served.
