Mesa County Oral History Meeting: Quiet on the Set: Making Silent Westerns In-Person

This presentation will cover the history of silent Western movies in the West, including their formative early years in Colorado. Brief clips from a half-dozen silent Westerns will also be screened.

Mesa County Oral History Meetings happen from 12pm to 1pm on the third Thursday of the month in the Central Library Community room in partnership with the Mesa County Historical Society.

Seating is first come, first served.

Bob Silbernagel writes a history column for The Daily Sentinel, and his most recent book, First Draft, is a collection of those history columns. It was published by Lithic Books of Fruita last autumn.He is also the author of four other books of regional history, including Troubled Trails: The Meeker Affair and the Expulsion of Utes from Colorado.

Bob was the editorial page editor for The Daily Sentinel for 19 years. He and his wife, Judy, live near Palisade, Colorado.
