If you’re an inventor, a creator, or involved with intellectual property of any kind, you’ll be interested in a three-part series of interactive webinars scheduled in July and August titled “The Path to a Patent,” hosted by the Patent and Trademark Resource Center at Mesa County Libraries, in cooperation with the Rocky Mountain Regional Office of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

These webinars will be held at no charge in the Central Library’s Idea Lab, located on the lower level of the library building at 443 N. 6th St. in Grand Junction. The Central Library is an officially designated Patent and Trademark Resource Center and can provide the public with training in patent and trademark searches and access to advanced search tools used only by the USPTO.

The third webinar, Electronic Filing, is set from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, August 16, at the Central Library and covers the USPTO’s unique online filing system. This webinar will discuss how to file your patent application online using the EFS-Web system and managing your application using the Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR) system. The presentation will consist of an interactive tutorial, description of various assistance resources such as the Inventor’s Assistance Center (IAC) and the Patent Electronics Business Center (EBC).
