If you’re an inventor, a creator, or involved with intellectual property of any kind, you’ll be interested in a three-part series of interactive webinars scheduled in July and August titled “The Path to a Patent,” hosted by the Patent and Trademark Resource Center at Mesa County Libraries, in cooperation with the Rocky Mountain Regional Office of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

These webinars will be held at no charge in the Central Library’s Idea Lab, located on the lower level of the library building at 443 N. 6th St. in Grand Junction. The Central Library is an officially designated Patent and Trademark Resource Center and can provide the public with training in patent and trademark searches and access to advanced search tools used only by the USPTO.

The first webinar covers the patent application process by providing an overview of patents, trademarks, and other types of protection for intellectual property. 

The second webinar, Patent Searching, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, August 2, at the Central Library.
The third webinar, Electronic Filing, is set from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, August 16, at the Central Library and covers the USPTO’s unique online filing system.
