CANCELED - Grand Valley Transit Travel Training Lincoln Park Pool - Clifton Branch Library In-Person

Calling all Parents!  Did you know that Grand Valley Transit has stops near many activity centers, parks, and places for family entertainment?  Learn how to use GVT to get to activity locations in town with a field trip to Lincoln Park.  Participants will begin at the Clifton Branch Library for a short Travel Training presentation on the basics of riding the bus.  The group will take a short walk (.3 miles) to the Transfer Facility then board route 9 for a field trip to Lincoln Park.  Families can play in the park or use the FREE Splash Pad at Lincoln Park Pool.  Those wanting to return to Clifton with the group leader will leave the park at 12:20 PM, but participants are also welcome to stay at the park as long as they would like.

Age restrictions: Open to families.  Children must be supervised by an adult.
Program location: Start at Clifton Branch Library → Lincoln Park  → back to Library

Registration deadline: Thursday, July 18

Participants should pack water, snacks or lunch, and swim gear if they plan to use the Splash Pad and money if they plan to stay and swim at the pool.

Extra info about Lincoln Park: Lincoln Park Pool opens at 1:30 PM – Admission required.  Splash Pad opens at 10:00 AM – FREE.  Lunch Lizard will stop at Lincoln Park at 1:45 PM

GVT Travel Training Program teaches participants how to: Use GVT’s Fixed Route, Read Schedules and Plan a Trip, Locate and Transfer to other Buses, Pay Fares and Purchase Tickets or Passes, and Use a Wheelchair lift and the Bicycle Rack.  To help make trainees comfortable with the GVT service, we are offering a free 11-Ride fixed-route pass to participants that participate in GVT Travel Training (residents are welcome to take the course multiple times, but are only eligible for one 11-Ride pass).
