Writers Night: Open Mic In-Person

You have come all year to learn to improve your writing. Now is the time to let us hear what you've accomplished! Bring your flash fiction, a sample of work, a prose description, a character sketch, or prose poems to read aloud.

Sharing your work is important to us as a writing community. Reading our work aloud encourages others to join in and feel comfortable sharing, as well as inspiring others to write.

About the event:

  • This is a sharing experience, not a critique group.
  • 5 minutes maximum in order for everyone to have time.
  • Give your name and the title of your piece.
  • No introductions, explanations, or apologies; your work should speak for itself.
  • No comments or discussion until everyone has read, then we may have a discussion.
  • Another person can read your work if you wish.
  • First come, first read; latecomers may try for the time left.
  • Sign up at wcwritersforum@gmail.com or on the Western Colorado Writers website.

This event is sponsored jointly by the Western Colorado Writers Forum and Mesa County Libraries, with support from the Grand Junction Commission on Arts & Culture.
