Influenza: The 1918 Pandemic in Mesa County In-Person

During the fall and winter of 1918, thousands of Coloradans were hit with influenza. Many did not survive. Author and historian Dave Fishell shares an insightful overview of how the disease crippled almost every aspect of life in Mesa County.

About the Presenters:

Andy Tyler, Regional Epidemiologist with the Mesa County Health Department, will do a brief introduction on the national and global influenza pandemic.

Dave Fishell has produced hundreds of radio & TV segments, newspaper articles, and three books on Colorado history. He is currently the worst tomahawk-throwing historian at Delta's 1828 Fort Uncompahgre.
