Writers Night: What's "Environmental," Anyway? In-Person

High Country News has long covered the American West. But while many people think of the magazine as having a strict focus on environmental coverage, it actually does much more. High Country News Editor-in-Chief Brian Calvert will discuss his views on environmental writing and why High Country News is (and isn't) an "environmental" magazine, and how writing for a sense of place can dissolve that difference. Seating is limited and registristration is required.

About the Presenter:

Brian, a fourth-generation Wyoming native, grew up in Pinedale and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1994 with a B.A. in English liberal arts and minors in writing and media studies. He has worked as a foreign correspondent, writer, audio jornalist, and most recently a Ted Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado. He is currently completing an MFA in poetry.

This event is co-sponsored by the Western Colorado Writers' Forum.
