Clifton Branch Book Club - Dry Run, Oklahoma

Join us for the next book club meeting here at the Clifton branch. This month's title is: Dry Run, Oklahoma by Lucinda Stein, who will be present to answer questions. The Clifton Branch Book Club meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

About the Author:

A former school librarian for over twenty years, Lucinda Stein writes short stories, historical and contemporary novels, and more recently, young-adult fiction. Her short story, "Sulfer Springs," won the 2011 LAURA Short Fiction Award judged by Pam Houston. She is the author of several award-winning books, most recent of which is Dry Run, Oklahoma, a 2018 WILLA Literary Award Finalist in Historical Fiction and also a 2018 Oklahoma Book Award Finalist.

Kirkus Reviews calls Stein's recent novel, "Minnie's Antique & Curiosity Shoppe," "a moving family tale with rich characters." The novel is set in the author's hometown.

"Bronte's Thunder," a magical realism story, is her most recent young-adult book. When not writing, Lucinda can be found reading, perusing antique stores, or camping with her husband, Rob, and shelter-rescue dog, Opie.
