Mesa County Oral History Meeting: Recent Old Spanish Trail Research

Mesa County Oral History Meeting: Recent Old Spanish Trail Research In-Person

Alpine Archaeological Consultants began work on the Old Spanish Trail in 2010. Most recently, Jon Horn put together a comprehensive historical context for the trail that expands its period of significance from 1829-1848 to 1821-1881. The larger timeframe enables later uses of the trail to be included, but also draws from earlier historical trends to form a dynamic history of the entire southwest.

Mesa County Oral History Meetings happen from 12pm to 1pm on the third Thursday of the month in the Central Library Community room in partnership with the Mesa County Historical Society.
