History Alive Western Colorado Chautauqua Performance: Becky Stone as Rosa Parks In-Person

Join Becky Stone for a Chautauqua performance of Rosa Parks, an African American civil rights activist and supporter of women's rights. This living history portrayal gives insight into the life of Parks, what motivated and inspired her, and how she became the mother of the civil rights movement.

Becky Stone holds a B.A. in Drama from Vassar College and a M.A. from Villanova University in Elementary Educational Counseling. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Stone became a storyteller upon moving South 37 years ago. Her acting credits include Lime Kiln Arts Theater, VA, Warehouse Theatre, Greenville, SC, Haywood Arts Regional Theatre, Southern Appalachian Repertory Theater, Asheville Community Theatre, Highland Repertory Theatre, Asheville Contemporary Dance Theater in Asheville and Merida, Mexico, and Asheville on Broadway. Stone has presented at North Carolina and Colorado Chautauqua festivals as Harriet Tubman, Josephine Baker, Pauli Murray, and Rosa Parks. She also performed at the Central Library in February of 2023 as Maya Angelou.
