The Desert West Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America will present an open house event with hands-on activities for all ages in the Central Library Community Room. A presentation about the history and techniques of needlecraft will be given at 6 p.m.

Members of The Guild will teach various stitching techniques to 7-11 year olds during Kids Club from 2-4 p.m. During this drop-in program in the Central Library Children's Area, children create stitched crafts to take home.

The Desert West Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America will have artwork on display at the Central Library from July 20 through August 30.
