Dr. Erika Jackson will be presenting on race, class, and gender history. Specifically Dr. Jackson will talk about crafting history, and history as a profession. We will also go into depth with her new book, "The Importance of Nordic Whiteness." She will expand on the subject of race among Scandinavians in 19th century Chicago. Her monograph explains how the social construction of race developed over time in America and abroad.
