Learn how to choose the right chickens for your situation, as well as prepare the basic necessities for a flock with Erin McIntyre, The Daily Sentinel's Home & Garden columnist and reporter.

Erin is an award-winning columnist and reporter for The Daily Sentinel and has written everything from hard-hitting series on child abuse to humor columns about her backyard flock of chickens. She grew up on a farm and is continually attempting to convince her city-slicker husband that she needs a goat. or a mini-cow. She maintains a small flock of hens for egg production, insect control and amusement.
